Fur Rendering in XNA
My fur rendering article just went online on Ziggyware. It is an entry for the Summer Ziggyware XNA Article Contest, so if you like it, vote for it when voting begins, in a few days.
The article explains how to draw fur, animate it, and apply it on models.
You can read it here.

Looks nice, but it seems to me like what you’ve got there is a “grassy” “animal” (might be a dinosaur) instead of a furry one
.
Funny how fur and grass are pretty much the same thing (graphics-wise)…
Anyway, good job.

Well, yeah…
The effect can and should be modified to achieve whatever look you want. The hair strand probably need to get thinner towards the top for it to look more furry. And it also probably needs to be less green
Indeed, this technique was used in some games for grass rendering (Shadow of the Colossus comes to mind).
